I’m Sorry We Weren’t Made To Be More Than FriendsZUMI

Dear Demola,
I’m letting out a huge sigh as I write this. I remember how breaking up with you felt like. We weren’t speaking to each other if you remember. You were one of my closest friends, so it truly was horrible to realise that we weren’t made to be more than friends.

The silence was like a chasm that grew wider with every hour that passed. It hurt terribly, and every time I bumped into you, I would smile and say hi but would have to swallow down this surge of anger/pain that I had to literally pray away. And it was so annoying how often I’d bump into you then!

We might not be as close as we once were, but I’m thankful we are still friends. Our friendship means a lot to me and for that, I will always be grateful.

When I told my friends we had split up, they were outraged. Like, how dare you?? Lol. I told them you were a great guy, and you still are. I told them you weren’t perfect and neither was I, but they were being supportive as only friends can be.

Thank you for the beautiful memories, thank you for the life lessons you taught me. I’ve grown. Thank you for your continued friendship. Just don’t ask me to come back, because it won’t happen. We weren’t made to be more than friends.

Tomilola.
