Man didn’t know what a ‘red dragon’ massage was until this happened

An Australian tourist who decided to have a ‘red dragon’ massage despite not knowing what it was, was shocked after he was left with huge red marks across his back. Candise Raison and her husband Matthew, from Paringa, were on holiday in Bali when they decided to get a massage. Ms Raison said the couple decided to get the ‘go jek’ massage, a service where the masseur comes to you, as they were too tired to go out.

When it came to her husband’s turn, the masseur asked if he wanted to ‘get the red dragon out of him’, Daily Mail Australia reports. Thinking it was just a ‘prayer thing’, Ms Raison told the masseur to ‘go for it!’ She told the paper how the masseur then started carving her husband’s body with a coin, telling them that by tomorrow it will be a ‘red dragon’.

The treatment is called gua sha and is aimed at releasing impurities from muscle tissue. The following day, the couple were shocked to find the huge marks on Mr Raison’s back, spanning from his neck to his tailbone. But luckily, they saw the funny side and said the treatment actually worked for her husband’s back pain.

Ms Raison said: ‘He hasn’t complained about a sore back since! He said it felt like an itch waiting to be itched, and then when it finally got scratched it was fantastic!’ Five days on from the massage, Mr Raison’s back was almost back to normal. Ms Raison said: ‘It’s something he will most likely get again with the way he enjoyed it.’
