Ogenyi Onazi returned to action for his Turkish top division side, Trabzonspor on Monday night after missing the Super Eagles last two games in the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against Libya reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 25-year old suffered an achilles tendon injury in training with the national team last week, but recovered timely for his club’s game.
Onazi who welcomed his second child over the weekend made his ninth start for Trabzonspor in the encounter playing for 45 minutes in their Monday’s goalless draw at home to Buyuksehir Belediye Erzurumspor in the Turkish Super Lig clash.
He was subbed off for Juraj Kucka at the start of the second half after he was cautioned in the 45th minute.
It was Onazi’s second yellow card of the season. His first was against Istanbul Basaksehir on matchday one of the season.
It remains to be seen if he will be available for Trabzonspor’s home clash against Antalayspor on Saturday.
Meanwhile, his compatriot, Anthony Nwakaeme was an unused substitute in the game. The former Hapoel Beer Sheva forward has not tasted action in his last four league games. He has made three appearances scoring two goals.
Trabzonspor are now seventh in the Turkish Super Lig table with 14 points from nine games.
