Sàngó Worshippers Perform Rituals As Thunder Strikes Victim In Oyo. Photos

Devotees of Sàngó were invited to perform traditional rites in a community in Oyo state which was affected by a thunder recently. It was gathered that the lightning also destroyed some houses and killed a victim in the process.

The Sàngó worshippers performed the traditional rites and found a local item (Edùn Àrá) that was formed by the thunder and dug it up.

It is believed that the devotees of Sàngó have the responsibility to make certain traditional rites in the place affected in order to prevent again the same accident in that locality.

Besides having to perform the rituals for possible victims, they also have the responsibility to find at the scene of the accident the Edùn Àrá , known as Sàngó stone.

Recently, tragedy struck in the quiet community of Shimawa in Ogun state after a fresh secondary school graduate simply identified as Ogechi and a 15-year old, Emmanuel, were allegedly killed by a thunder strike.. The incident happened on Sunday, September 30th.
