We are taught to learn from every mistake we make from childhood.

You are taught to chase perfection and you end up fearing to venture into new areas because you are afraid to fail.

And, no one hardly tells you that mistakes are what make us human and that you should only learn from them and not enslave yourself with the guilt of making a mistake.

Whereas you might feel like it is impossible to forgive yourself for the things you did, there are things you should never ever regret.

1. Being in love

If you were once in love and it felt so good and so true, you got no reason to regret about it. The fact that you had your share of experiencing true love is a thing you should cherish. Even if the relationship never worked, at least it made you happy and happiness is all that matters in this short life.

2. Loving the wrong person

They say you kiss lots of frogs before getting the right one. And you don’t have to kill yourself with guilt and regret for loving a douche. It’s just unfortunate that you loved a person who took advantage of your feelings but so long as you .ed your part, there is nothing to regret about.

3. Letting go

Quitting does not mean that you are a loser. It takes a lot of courage to let go of toxic people. And if you managed to do that, it means you know your self-worth and there is nothing wrong with that. You made a great decision and you are better off without that person.

4. Failing

Whether you failed in college, business or you disappointed your parents, the damage is done. You might not have gotten the grades you wished for but you tried your best. So what’s there to regret? Forgive yourself even if the world does not and keep on moving. Your life is yours alone remember.

5. Saying ‘no’

It’s difficult to say no to someone you really care about. But sometimes the situation needs you to say so. While this may hurt a loved one and also make you feel guilty, you should not regret about it. You don’t have to say ‘yes’ to something you do not want just because you don’t want to hurt the other person.

6. Being selfish

When you are in a tough situation and you must choose between what is important to you and what matters to the other person, you most likely will go for what matters to you. The decision might seem selfish but then, you got to love yourself first before loving the world.
