Thoughts That Prevent You From Having A Successful Relationship

As it is with anything worth achieving, having a good attitude is a very big part of truly building a life with someone.

But many people have such a negative approach that is killing the possibility of them enjoying a successful relationship. If you constantly harbor any of these thoughts, it means you need an immediate change in attitude.

1. “Love only exists in movies”

Women who think like this often tend to be very rigid in what their idea of love is. Sure, flowers and wine may look good on TV but they are not the only things that determine true love. If you only gauge your partner’s love for you by romantic ideals, you will probably miss the many other ways he has been showing his affection. In this scenario, you won’t feel like you’re getting what you need and he won’t feel appreciated for what he does. This puts the relationship in a precarious position.

2. “All men cheat”

You may sound all tough and ‘over it’ when you say this but going with this belief is a sign of weakness and insecurity. You’re afraid to trust is what this means. As a result, you’re afraid to love. And if you always keep your cards close to your chest this way, your partner will not feel like you really care about him. You can’t have a successful relationship this way.

3. “He has to fulfill all my needs”

The fact is that no one person can fulfill every single one of your needs just as you cannot be everything to your partner. You both have to make allowances for flaws. This will keep you from walking out the door or being resentful over the small stuff. He will fall short of expectations sometimes, and so will you. But as long as you can both communicate your needs to the best of your abilities, there’s no reason why you can’t have a successful relationship.

To ensure you’re always prepared, here are four things that change about your relationship after marriage.
