It’s been a few months and you’ve invested in some ready-made products which were great. But the rate at which your hair consumes the products, you might go bankrupt if care is not taken. Let’s help you out before your natural hair sends you back to your village.

Here are some DIY products that you can make at home to care for your natural hair. Some with the ingredients you have in your fridge.

DIY Black Soap Shampoo

No need to spend a ton of money on ready-made shampoos. This one would clean your hair just as good.

Ingredients: black soap base, any carrier oil, glycerin (optional), Vitamin E oil, preferred essential oils.

DIY Deep Conditioning Treatment

Care for your natural hair the affordable smart way, with this homemade conditioning treatment. It will boost your hair growth, intensely nourish your hair and strengthen it.

Ingredients: avocado, raw eggs and olive oil

Directions: Scoop out all the flesh of half of an avocado into a blender. Crack in one egg into the blender and add two tablespoons of olive oil. Blend on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Apply to freshly washed hair, cover with a shower cap and leave on for 15 minutes. You won’t believe how soft your hair will feel afterwards.

DIY Leave-In Conditioner

This simple recipe that you can make in a few minutes will leave your hair soft and hydrated.

Ingredients: aloe vera gel, avocado or coconut oil, glycerin, preferred essential oils (optional)

Directions: Mix 50ml of aloe vera gel with 1/3 cup of water in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Add a tablespoon of avocado or coconut oil and 3 tablespoons of glycerin to the bowl and mix again. You can add a few drops of your preferred essential oils if available. Pour the contents into a spray bottle and that’s it. Just spritz on your freshly washed hair and watch your curls pop! You can also use on dry hair too to hydrate it. Remember that oil and water do not really mix so you’ll have to shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
