Forms of infidelity that don’t involve sex – Lifestyle News

A majority of us are not aware that there are many forms of cheating in a relationship.

Indeed, cheating does not just involve sleeping with someone that’s not your partner. Even something like being too close to someone who is not your girlfriend or boyfriend and even confiding in them is a form of cheating. I’m not insinuating that you should not have friends when dating, but when you’re in a committed relationship, it’s important to note that there are other forms of cheating such as:

1. Emotional cheating.

This is where you innocently start talking to someone of the opposite sex as friends (fair enough) but then, you get so close and you even start confiding in this person about your relationship and even asking them for opinions on different matters. They’re your “really good friend”, you talk a lot, you flirt often, and there are feeling involved. You haven’t slept together…yet, but if you were stuck in a room together, a lot could go down. If you’re in a situation like this, you’re emotionally cheating on your partner.

2. Online cheating.

In this era of internet and social media, it’s not easy to stay faithful. You might be tempted to start a conversation with your online Facebook friend or that girl you follow on Instagram. Even if you have no plans of ever meeting, even if you think that the chats are harmless since there’s no sex involved, you’re cheating virtually. You will find these kinds of cheaters on dating sites even when they have partners, you will find them spending a lot of time on Pornsites, sexting other people and what not. In case you had no clue, that’s cyber cheating. Ask yourself, if your partner saw your Instagram messages and what not, would they like what they saw? If not, then yeah, you’re definitely cheating virtually.
