How To Fix A Bra Just Got Easier With These Easy Tips

Buying bras in Nigeria can be a headache – they either look ugly or are too expensive. That’s why we hold the bras we already have so close to our hearts. Now, imagine that one bra you hold so dearly stabbing you in the chest (literally). It feels like a betrayal and it’s a different kind of pain. But it’s one we can fix!

Today, rather than let you splurge on a new bra, we’re going to show you how to fix a bra wire. Because good bras don’t grow on trees.

Knowing how to fix a bra wire isn’t as hard as you might think. With a few key tools you’ll have your entire bra collection back again.

Side Note: Did you know that the leading causes of ruined bra wires are ‘wrong sizing’ and ‘washing method’. If your bra is not your size, it’ll only be a matter of time before you see the wire. And, washing your bra the wrong way will cause the wire to pop out sooner than later.

But since we’re already on this boat, here are 4 tips that will help you know how to fix a bra wire:

1. Use moleskin

This might be the most popular method in the world. Moleskin is basically a cotton fabric with a sticky side used to pad shoes (Don’t worry, it’s not actually the skin of a mole. That would be weird).

How:

– Push the wire back into the bra using your fingers (do this carefully because those wires are sharp)

– Cut a piece of the moleskin and place it over the wire hole, making sure it overlaps the bra’s edge

2. Use some tissue

We’d like to think this is the most practical. If you’re on the go and realize your bra wire has popped out, just use some tissue.

How:

– Take a square of tissue paper and fold it into a long rectangle

– Wrap it around the exposed wire, tucking the end between the wire and the bra

This will protect you from any pain or injury for the rest of your day

3. Use band-aids

Band-aids are great replacements for the moleskin.

How

– Push the wire back into the bra with your fingers

– Take a band-aid and place it over the hole making sure it overlaps the bra’s edge

– Or wrap the wire with the bandaid to ensure it doesn’t hurt your skin!

4. Use a piece of cloth and duct tape

Lets say you’re not into the tips above, this might be a good solution for you.

How:

– Cut a piece of cloth that would adequately cover the wire hole. Then push the wire back into the bra

– Take some duct tape (the same length as the piece of cloth) and roll it into a cylindrical shape

– Place the duct tape on the piece of cloth, leaving the other sticky half of the tape exposed

– Place the exposed sticky tape over the wire hole and press down. Voila!

Now, these are not permanent solutions. But they will keep working till you get a new bra. You’re welcome!
