Nigeria defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has revealed that he wants a permanent move to LaLiga side, Leganes, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

Omeruo joined Chelsea from Belgian side, Standard Liege in 2012 but is yet to feature in a competitive game for the club.

Earlier in the summer, the 25-year-old joined Leganes on a season-long loan deal, where he has been restricted to just two starts in the league and one start in the Copa del Rey this season.

The Nigerian international’s contract at Stamford Bridge runs down in 2020 and despite having several loan spells, the defender has failed to find a way into the west London club’s squad.

“I want to be in Leganés, in Spain. Play and improve here. I would like to continue with Leganés,” Omeruo told Sportwitness.co.uk.

Mauricio Pellegrino took charge at Leganes in the summer, months after he was sacked at Southampton.

The Argentine was a centre-back during his playing career and Omeruo explained how his manager has helped him improve his game.

“He is a very interesting person when it comes to work, I respect him very much because he is a legend. He was a great centre-back,” the versatile defender explained.

“I did not have the opportunity to see him play but fortunately people have spoken very well of him. I look at him because he was a great centre-back. Talks a lot with me, teaches me videos and tries to correct my mistakes. That is very important for my performance.”
