South Africa Midfielder Mokotjo Rules Out Of Super Eagles Clash

South Africa midfielder, Kamohelo Mokotjo, has been ruled of his country’s crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria due to injury, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.
Bafana Bafana will face the Super Eagles at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg on November 17.

 

Mokotjo, 27, who plays for English Championship club, Brentford faces around five weeks on the sidelines as a result of the injury.

He missed the Bees 2-0 home win against Millwall on Saturday.

 

The defensive midfielder has been capped 11 times by the former African champions after making his senior debut as an injury-time substitute in the 2–0 friendly win over Mozambique on 11 September 2012.

 

Makotjo has featured in 16 games in all competitions for Brentford this season.

 

Nigeria top Group E of the AFCON qualifiers with nine points, while South Africa sit in second position with eight points.

 

A win against the Super Eagles will see Stuart Baxter’s men book a place in Cameroon 2019.
