A 23 year old self confessed drug dealer was run over while being chased by a robber this afternoon (Friday).
The incident happened along the north bound lane of the R102 in the vicinity of the Verulam intersection in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by passing motorists reporting the pedestrian vehicular accident.
Upon arrival, the man explained that he was being pursued by an unknown individual was attempting to rob him of his back pack containing marijuana.
In an attempt to evade the robber he fled across the R102 when he was run over by a Renault Megane that was travelling towards Tongaat.
The suspect then stole the pedestrian’s bag and fled in an unknown direction. The pedestrian sustained a broken leg while a 28 year old female passenger in the Renault Megan sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The two were transported to hospital by ambulance.
