Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas has released a handwritten letter said to be from the Duchess of Sussex in which she pleads with him to stop lying to the press. Published in the Mail on Sunday. The neatly written letter tells Mr Markle: ‘If you love me, as you tell the press you do, please stop. Please allow us to live our lives in peace.’ The Duchess of Sussex pleads with her father to stop lying and ‘exploiting’ her marriage to Prince Harry by giving scathing interviews, accusing him of breaking her heart ‘into a million pieces’.

Meghan, who is expecting her first child with Harry this spring, also says Thomas has made no attempts to contact her and reprimands him for falsely telling journalists he is the one who has been shunned.

In an excerpt of the five-page letter, sent in August last year, she writes: ‘Daddy, it is with a heavy heart that I write this, not understanding why you have chosen to take this path, turning a blind eye to the pain you are causing.’

Mr Markle, 74, a former Hollywood lighting director who now lives in Mexico, did not attend his daughter’s wedding after he suffered two heart attacks days before he was set to walk her down the aisle.
