Rotimi Amaechi Sympathizes With Victims Of Election Violence In Rivers. Photos

Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi , on Thursday 28th,2019 paid a visit in an undisclosed hospital to some victims of violence in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers State.

Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State and Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the South- South also prayed for the victims quick recovery and assured that the party will pay for the medical bills of the patients.

Amaechi worried that youths could still allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians to cause violence during elections.

He called on the Management of the hospital to give the best medical attention to the patients so as to ensure their quick recovery.

According to him, ” The party,(APC) will pay the medical bills but let the patients get the best of medical attention they deserve”,he said.

Recall that scores of members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) were gruesomely attacked and some killed by suspected thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State.

In a similar development, the former Governor has also expressed sadness on the demise of some APC members at the stampede which occurred during the party’s Presidential Campaign Rally at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

Speaking in an emotion ladden voice when he paid a condolence visit to the family of one of the deceased Mr. Bestman Kalagbor, Amaechi urged the bereaved family to take solace in God.

He also said that the Party would assist the bereaved family in times of need even as efforts would be made to arrest orchestrators of the stampede.

He said, ” We’ll participate during the burial and we will assist the family. Please let us know the details of the burial arrangement so we can pay our last respect to him and we will also fish out all those who caused the stampede at the Stadium”, he said.
