A businessman lost his money to his maid and his niece who reportedly connived to steal from him.

According to H-Metro the car dealer identified as Innocent Matengambiri, from Zimbabwe used to keep the money at home in his bedroom when he had completed his deals at the car dealership.

However, whenever he would want to use the money he would realise that some of the money had been stolen. Matengambiri initially suspected that his wife was the one who was stealing the money from him she was the only other person who had access to the bedroom apart from him.

He seemed to have been reluctant to confront her as he waited to gather definitive evidence of his wife’s treachery.

Fortunately for him, before he could accuse his wife the thefts stopped after his niece who had been staying with them moved from his house to stay with another uncle. The niece, Fiona Machoko (26), is a daughter to Matengambiri’s sister-in-law.

Under interrogation from the police, Fiona revealed that she had been working with Matengambiri’s maid for over 12 years, Spelile Banda (55) who had made a spare key to the bedroom. The pair used the key to access the bedroom whenever the couple was not around. Fiona also revealed that Banda had managed to build a house using the stolen funds.

The pair is expected back in court today.
