STwo gunmen wearing face masks entered a Brazilian school on Wednesday and shot dead at least five teenagers as well as two school officials, before fatally turning their gun on themselves, police said.

Before entering the Raul Brasil school in Suzano, a city on the eastern outskirts of metropolitan Sao Paulo, the assailants, former pupils aged 17 and 25, shot and killed the owner of a car rental agency from which they had stolen a vehicle.

Ten people, including the gunmen, were killed in total, Sao Paulo police said. The students who died were mostly 15 and 16 years old.

It is not yet clear why the gunmen attacked the school, which is in a middle-class neighbourhood and has about 1,000 children aged 11 to 16 attending classes.

The twisted pair killed six teenagers – four boys and two girls – while the school’s principal and another staff member were also among those murdered.

After the massacre, the gunmen killed each other in a warped death pact at the school in the Suzano area of Sao Paulo.

Disturbing footage shows Monteiro entering the building where a group of schoolkids are congregating along with at least one teacher.

The disturbed killer then reaches down into his trousers and pulls out a pistol before unloading on the unsuspecting victims.

Authorities have confirmed that both shooters were former pupils of the school.

Police, who arrived eight minutes after the shooting started, did not have time to engage the murderers before they took their own lives.

Cops who raided Monteiro’s home said he posted around 30 images of himself waving a gun and wearing a skull mask online.
