A cyclist accidentally kissed a female reporter on the lips after she went to give him a peck on the cheek. Belgian rider Stijn Steels was left red-faced after the embarrassing end to his interview with journalist Linde Merckpoel.
In the footage, Merckpoel, 34, put her arm around the 29-year-old before she leaned in to give him a kiss on the cheek.But Steels turned to give her a peck at the same time and they unintentionally locked lips.
The pair both immediately pulled away and put their hands over their faces in shock.She shared the cringeworthy clip with her 109,000 Twitter followers and added the caption: “Sorry baby. I can explain.”
Steels replied: “Let’s be serious. What would you like and what would we do with the earnings?”
According to Het Nieuwsblad, the Belgian biker claimed he has been bombarded with messages since the awkward video was posted on social media.
He said: “I have received a huge number of text messages.“On Instagram, even people from Russia, Germany and so on have sent me a message.
“In Russia that video has been viewed more than two million times.“I have driven a super bad course, but have never received so much attention.”
