A woman who spent eight years selling her body to feed her drug habit has turned her life around. By the age of 28, Kayleigh Hutton had endured nearly a decade of addiction, surviving on a daily dose of M-Cat, crack cocaine and heroin.

She regularly mixed the cocktail to increase the drugs’ strength, funded through sex work on the streets of Grimsby in England.
But five years after becoming an unlikely TV star in Channel 4’s Skint, she’s clean and wants to help pull others from the pit of despair she knew so well.
Driven by a new addiction – her family – Kayleigh, 33, now volunteers in administration with Addaction, helping addicts beat their demons.
She dreams of becoming a recovery worker herself, after losing her life to addiction and selling her body, servicing many clients daily.
Forced into prostitution, she lived through the heart-breaking experience of losing three children to the care system.
It is exactly five years since Kayleigh met with producers from the series ‘Skint’, who urged her to feature in their programme in return for a chance to seek help in a rehabilitation centre.
It turned out to be her big break from the declining spiral of drugs, and marked a turning point in her life.
While on Skint, Kayleigh had a room at a hostel, though spent most of her time on Grimsby’s streets selling her body. She told the programme how younger, attractive men made her feel uneasy, as usually it would be older men picking up girls.
Five years later, her family is her world and she’s been reunited with her mum, Colleen Lyng, and 17-year-old daughter Courtney Hutton, who is joining the army.
