Bayern Munich Star, Alaba Reveals Why He Dumped Nigeria, Calls Team Coaches ‘Jokers’.

David Alaba has reportedly claimed that he was asked by the Nigerian U17 coaches to pay a bribe inorder to make the squad for the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup. allnigeriasoccer exclusively report.

Born in Vienna to a Filipino mother and Nigerian father, the Bayern Munich star was eligible to represent the Super Eagles, but he decided to play for his country of birth, Austria instead.

The Bayern Munich defender, who can play various positions has claimed that he trained with the Nigeria U17, with the likes of Lukman Haruna, Macauley Chrisantus and Rabiu Ibrahim ahead of the tournament in South Korea and impressed during the training camp.

However, Alaba opted out of camp after the Golden Eaglets’ coaches insisted on collecting money from the Bayern youngster, but his mother refused parting with a single penny.

Speaking recently, the 26-year-old has slammed the Nigeria U17 coaches ‘jokers’ and has vowed not to have anything to do with them in the future if he is approached by the coaches.

The six-time Austrian Footballer of the Year, Alaba, has earned 68 caps for Austria, scoring 13 goals and represented the country at the 2016 European Championship.
