Aisha Buhari, wife of Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari who arrived the country by 4:30am on a British Airways flight today October 13, has revealed why she’s been away for some months. In a statement released by her Special Assistant Media Olabisi Olumide-Ajayi, Aisha Buhari said she took the long vacation to be with her children. The First Lady said she wasn’t able to do this before now due to exigencies of duty after her husband got elected as President.
“Before the advent of this administration it had always been the custom for her to take a long vacation with her children but since the President was elected and due to exigencies of duty it has not been possible.
“However this year she decided to break the jinx and spend time with them, especially since Mr President has graciously appointed Special Advisers and Personal assistants to her.”
Aisha Buhari who expressed readiness to continue her work with women and children, thanked Nigerians for their encouragement and support.
