Femi Falana says publisher and convener of #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore, and his associate, Olawale Bakare, who are currently facing trial for treasonable felony, have met their bail conditions and are expected to be released later today Wednesday November 6th.

Falana who is Sowore’s counsel, made this known at the commencement of Sowore’s trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja this morning November 6th.

“I have already explained to the learned prosecuting counsel that we are encumbered by the refusal of the State Security Service to allow us to prepare for the defence of the defendants.

“I had already asked my learned counsel for the prosecution, that we are confident that the defendants will be freed today (Wednesday) from the custody of the SSS having met the bail conditions imposed on them by this honourable court.

“Once they are liberated from the custody of the SSS, we will be in a position to take full instruction from them.” he said

Sowore and Bakare’s bail which was initially put at N100m, was reviewed downwards to N50 million and N20 million respectively on October 21st. Sowore was arrested on August 4th in his home in Lagos. He has been accused of insulting President Buhari, money laundering, amongst others.
