LASG release emergency numbers for Coronavirus, to quarantine every Chinese arriving the state

The Lagos state government has released emergency numbers for Coronavirus and also reached an agreement with the Chinese embassy to ensure that Chinese citizens remain in their country to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

They also agreed that any Chinese who intends to visit the state, is immediately quarantined for a period of 10 to 14 days. The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, made this known today January 30th.

They also plan to contact the associations of traders and businessmen to curtail movement of Nigerian traders between Nigeria and China for a period of time.

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak has risen to 170, and a confirmed case in Tibet means it has reached every region in mainland China.

Chinese health authorities said there were 7,711 confirmed cases in the country as of 29 January.

Infections have also spread to at least 15 other countries.

The World Health Organization (WHO) are again meeting in Geneva to consider whether the virus should be declared a global health emergency.
