The beggar known as Alhaji Umar Dikko is not your regular beggar because he has made a mark in his industry unlike the others who beg just to eat daily mealsAlhaji Umar Dikko has made begging a lucrative business in the Ajegunle area where he resides, he is popularly known as the king of beggars in that environment.

Though a beggar he is married to four women with 18 children.  He is asid to have bulit houses in is hometown in Kano.

If you recall, in 2018 England warned residents not to give money and alms to beggars because not all of them are homeless but some are fraudulent to discourage beggars from the society.

They warned that kind hearted and well meaning people were in danger of being misled and said if they wanted to offer beggars something it should be food or a hot drink, rather than cash. The force said after carrying out extensive work with beggars in the city, officers were confident there were no homeless people on the streets

Back to Nigeria we know there are homeless people here who sleep on the bridges and parks. Knowing that Alhaji has 5 houses, transport company and pure water business, will this discourage you from giving to beggars on the streets?
