Manchester City Mauls Reigning Champions Liverpool By 4-0

Manchester City beat the reigning EPL champions, Liverpool, silly in their final clash of the season by a whopping 4 goals to nil. This Manchester City masterclass was achieved with goals from Kevin De Bruyne (25’), Raheem Sterling (35’), Phil Fodden (45”) and an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal (66’).

The was a last gasp goal which would have made it 5-0 but was disallowed by VAR for some inexplicable reason.

Liverpool’s Premier League triumph this season will deservedly go down in history — from their 30-year wait for an elite title in England, their stylish play and charismatic boss, the records they smashed along the way and, of course, the strangest of coronavirus-induced prolonged season.

This triumphant Liverpool team is not that remarkable one in any sense of the word. They have no Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi, who can carry his team and time and again single-handedly turns matches on their heads. No offence to Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, but for all their talent they are still a country mile behind guys like CR7, Leo, Zlatan and Zidane — even Beckham and De Bruyne are better as individual talents.

Congratulations to Manchester City for getting one over their eternal rivals, Liverpool.

Do you think Liverpool’s loss was as a result of complacency being that they already won the league?
