The Ekiti State Government has warned that all the items looted from government facilities are not fit for consumption and should not be mistaken for COVID-19 palliatives.

Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr Akin Omole, said Ekiti has no COVID-19 palliative warehouse as all the relief items had been distributed.

He said in a statement on Saturday that the looted items carted away were fertilisers which hoodlums mistook for Garri, cassava grains.

Omole said: “Information at our disposal revealed that the Federal Government’s silos, the ADP warehouse and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) stores, all in Ado- Ekiti, were attacked by hoodlums under the guise of seeking Covid-19 palliatives.
