In another tragic turn of events, four people perished in a head on collision between a BMW X5 and a Mercedes Benz C200 about 2km from Kariba Airport on Sunday afternoon.
The Mercedes Benz caught fire and burnt the three occupants who were trapped inside the vehicle. The driver of the BMW X5 who was reportedly headed for Harare, died on the spot.
The Kariba Municipality fire brigade managed to arrive at the scene to put out the fire and try to retrieve the bodies.
The late BMW X5 driver was headed for Harare at the time of the unfortunate accident while the Mercedes Benz occupants were headed in the opposite direction.
The other occupants in the BMW X5 were seriously injured and taken to Kariba District Hospital.
The Mercedes Benz was destroyed to a rubble while its engine detached and was tossed about 10m away from the vehicle.
This is coming one week after socialite Ginimbi and his three friends were killed in a road crash. May the lost souls rest in peace.
