I think tomorrow is going to be one of the greatest wins in history – Donald Trump

President Donald Trump told his crowd of supporters in Michigan not to make him cry as they repeatedly chanted ‘we love you’ last night as he wrapped up his pitch for a second term in the White House with his adult children at his side.

‘Don’t make me cry, don’t make me cry,’ Trump, who was wearing a MAGA hat, told his large crowd of chanting supporters in Grand Rapids. ‘If I started to cry they’d have a big story. They’d say the president broke down and cried, and I don’t know if that’s good for us… Maybe it brings me up four or five points, but I don’t care.’

Speaking of election day, Trump told the crowd: ‘I think we’re going to win everything. I think tomorrow is going to be one of the greatest wins in the history.

‘This is not the crowd of somebody who is going to lose the state of Michigan. This is not the crowd of a second place finisher.’

‘We want a big win. Not just a win. A big win.’

Democratic rival Joe Biden leads in national polls and in polling in several critical battleground states. Biden is up by 6.7 points in the RealClearPolitics polling average. But it’s been an unusual year – upended by the coronavirus pandemic – and Tuesday’s race is not a lock.

‘He’s not going to win. I really don’t believe he’s going to win,’ Trump said of his rival.

Trump sounded hoarse and tired after two back-to-back days of campaigning in which he held 10 rallies in several crucial battleground states. His final rally of the day Monday started after midnight after a 14-hour day of campaigning.

‘We appreciate you so much,’ he told the crowd in Grand Rapids.

The president was joined at the final event of his 2020 campaign by Donald Trump Jr and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Trump and Lara Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

‘No matter what happens tomorrow I’m very proud of you all,’ he said to them. ‘But if you don’t win I’ll never speak to you again.’

Earlier in Wisconsin, Ivanka Trump took to the state to praise her father, saying: ‘He works so, so hard every day.

‘Let me just tell you, Washington has not changed Donald Trump. Donald Trump has changed Washington. It’s true and there’s more to come.

‘We have to fight for him and we have to fight for this country that we love so much.’
