Former Arsenal footballer, Andrey Arshavin’s ex-wife fighting for life in hospital after catching Covid-19 while recovering from pancreatitis and peritonitis

Former model, Alisa Arshavina, 38, the ex-wife of Arsenal football star Andrey Arshavin, 39, is fighting for her life in hospital after contracting covid-19 while in hospital with an unrelated illness

Alisa had been “between life and death” in intensive care in St Petersburg, Russia, for eight days, according to her mum Natalia Sarycheva.

Alisa, a regular poster on Instagram has now stayed a month without posting on social media.

Before catching Covid-19 she reportedly had acute pancreatitis and peritonitis and was put into an artificial coma.

Her mum said: “She has Covid-19 and pneumonia with a complication.”

Her health issues come amid a bitter legal battle with Arshavin who she marrid in 2016. She shares a child with the Russian football star.

The pair divorced in 2019 and she won a court battle last December for him to pay £3,350 a month as support but the footballer’s mum, Tatyana is taking legal action to evict her and her three children from her £500,000 marital home..

Alisa is also fighting a ‘life-threatening” disease which “mutilated” her nose.

She said the condition was the result of a serious autoimmune system condition.

Speaking in January, she said: “I’m not sick because of unsuccessful plastic surgery.

“I have a serious disease of the autoimmune system.

“Two surgeries have helped to save my life. As a result, my beautiful face was mutilated by the disease.”
