Mendy, of Withinlee Road, Prestbury, has been remanded in jail and will appear before Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 27.
“The charges relate to three complainants over the age of 16 and are alleged to have taken place between October 2020 and August 2021.” Cheshire Constabulary stated in a statement.
Mendy, a France international, has been remanded in custody pending his appearance before Chester Magistrates’ Court, according to police.
“Cheshire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecution Service would like to remind everyone that criminal proceedings against Mendy are still ongoing and that he has the right to a fair trial,” a police spokeswoman said.
Mendy joined City from Monaco in 2017 and has been a part of three Premier League championship teams since then.
