Edward Enninful, British Vogue editor sets to marry his male partner on 50th birthday

Edward Enninful, the Ghana-born editor-in-chief of the British Vogue, is reportedly set to marry Alec Maxwell, his long-term boyfriend, on February 22, his 50th birthday.

According to Daily Mail, the event is expected to be attended by at least three hundred guests at the stately home in Wiltshire that boasts a 9,000-acre safari park famed for its lions.

Some of the guests expected include Leonardo DiCaprio, David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and Donatella Versace, among others.

Emma Weymouth, the Marchioness of Bath and Enninful’s friend, is said to have allowed the soon-to-be-wed couple make use of Longleat — where she lives with Ceawlin Thynn, her husband who is the 8th Marquess of Bath — for the event.

“This is going to be the wedding of the year – there will be no expense spared, and no detail ignored,” a source told the news outlet.

“Edward is one of the best-connected people in Britain, and across America too, so expect super-famous guests. People are already saying you won’t see so many A-listers in one room ever again.

“Edward appears to have saved some money on the venue as he is thought to have been given it by Emma Weymouth as a wedding present.

“Edward and Alec have been wanting to marry for some time, and Edward’s 50th birthday seemed such a special day to do it.”

Enninful, born in Ghana on February 22, 1972, was appointed the editor-in-chief of British Vogue in 2017, after working for the magazine’s Italian and American versions.

Alec and Enninful have been together for a very long time, according to The New York Times.

Often regarded as the most powerful black man in the global fashion landscape today, it is understood that Enninful has been engaged to Alec for more than 14 years.
