Ejeviome Eloho Otobo was a collaborator with Grace Initiative and Non-Resident Senior Expert in Peacebuilding and Global Economic Policy at the Global Governance Institute, Brussels, Belgium. Mr. Otobo had previously held the position of director and deputy head of the UN Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) at the United Nations Headquarters, New York from 2009-2014, where he also acted as Assistant Secretary-General from February-August 2009. At PBSO, he led the Office’s efforts in assisting the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) to develop peacebuilding strategies, including supporting governance reforms and reconciliation processes, for countries on the agenda of the PBC. Before joining the PBSO, he served in various department of the UN. Mr. Otobo joined the United Nations after a distinguished career in the diplomatic service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In recognition of his contribution to Nigeria’s diplomacy and foreign policy, he was appointed ambassador-in- situ. He is also currently a member of the External Experts Advisory Board of Informing Conflict Prevention, Resolution and Response (INFOCORE) Consortium Project funded by the European Union.

Mr. Otobo is widely published and has written on a wide range of issues, including peacebuilding, public service reforms, institutional development, governance, regulatory policy and management, and international trade. His publications include: co-edited African Development in the 21st Century: Adebayo Adedeji’s Theories and Contributions (2015) and authored Consolidating Peace in Africa: The Role of the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission (2015). Mr. Otobo hold a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Cause Of Death
Otobo was last seen in Tuckahoe, New York, on June 15, 2022. The Tuckahoe police department on June 19 announced in a Facebook post that Otobo was missing and requested information from the public. A few days after, the police announced that Otobo had been found dead and sent condolences to his family.
