Rivers state university bans female students from wearing crop-top dress, bum shorts and long eyelashes on campus

The management of Rivers State University has banned indecent dressing on its campus.

In a memo signed by its registrar, the varsity prohibited such things as tattooing and hair dying by students.

The memo is titled “Bon Indecent Dressing by Students on Campus” and was addressed to the student union.

The institution also banned the wearing of a “spaghetti gown” and any short skirt above the knees by female students.

“I am directed to inform you that the Senate has banned indecent dressing by students on campus with immediate effect,” the memo reads.

“I am further directed to inform you that this ban is a sequel to a memo presented by the committee of provost and deans and considered by the senate at its 291 Regular Meeting held on Thursday, September 29, 2022.”

Among other fashion trends it banned is the sagging of trousers by both male and female students.

The institution further prohibited the wearing of earrings by male students and nose rings by female students.

“Wearing of tattoos by both male and female students. Wearing of ankle chain by female students. Wearing of long eyelashes by female students,” the management stated in the now-viral memo,” it further reads.

“Wearing of gown/blouse that exposes the navel or breast by female students. Wearing of tattered jean trousers by both male and female students. Wearing bathroom slippers or bum shorts to the classroom.

“I am in the circumstance, directed to draw the attention of all students to the above decision and hereby request that you please note and comply accordingly.”
