Governor Fintiri escapes death as truck crashes his convoy
A truck has crashed into the convoy of Ahmadu Fintiri, governor of Adamawa state, leaving two police officers injured.
According to Channels Television, the accident was said to have happened on Saturday after Fintiri and some members of his cabinet left a wedding at Agga mosque in the Dougirei area of Yola, the state capital.
The driver of the truck was suspected to have lost control and rammed into two vehicles in the convoy at high speed.
The governor, who was said to have narrowly escaped the accident, came out of his vehicle and cautioned the truck driver before leaving the scene.
Fintiri is seeking another term in office as governor of Adamawa.
