Most popular UK TiKTok videos of 2022 revealed with the top spot with 244.2 MILLION views

An ASMR clip of a farrier skilfully removing a horseshoe has been revealed as the UK’s most popular TikTok video of 2022, TSB News reports.

The video – created by @Samdracott_Farrier – has racked up more than 244.2million views, more than any other clip by a British user, according to data released by TikTok this week.

Demonstrating the variety of TikTok, second place was taken by Sadie, a 35-year old mother-of-two from Peterborough, who has been documenting her recovery and adjustment to life with sepsis.

In third place, @kiki_n_rohs sprays a disabled sign on a pavement by freehand, while a ‘latte love story’ between a barista and her customer in Edinburgh also features in the list.

@Samdracott_Farrier’s ASMR content showed him expertly removing a horseshoe from a horse.

Sam Dracott was filmed in the oddly satisfying footage cleaning up one of his horse’s hooves.

He told Sky News: ‘It’s an amazing and surreal feeling that a video of me doing my day-to-day work has accumulated over 270 million views.

‘Farriery is a trade that has gone on for hundreds of years, so it’s really incredible that people are so interested in a video of me shoeing a horse.

‘I receive a lot of messages asking how I got into my trade, how can someone become a farrier, what qualifications I took.

‘It’s a very physical profession that requires a lot of skill and patience to master the craft, but equally the most satisfying and rewarding job.’

Many commented on the horse’s reaction, with one person writing: ‘Horse be like: I got my nails done.’

2. MUM’S SEPSIS JOURNEY

Sadie, a 35-year old mother-of-two, from Peterborough, has been documenting her recovery and adjustment to life with sepsis.

One of her clips on @Sadiessepsijourney has so far been watched 244.1million times.

The playful video shows her mimicking Jaws with her left hand – complete with a rendition of the film’s well known theme tune.

On Christmas Day in 2021, she was rushed to hospital with an infected kidney stone that led to septic shock.

The mother-of-two had to be put into an induced coma and was on life support for 10 days.

Upon waking, she discovered she had been left with life-changing injuries; she had lost all of her fingers and would need to have her legs amputated.

Similar to the horseshoe removal clip that took the top spot this year, this video is also part of the ‘oddly satisfying’ category.

The footage captures a person skilfully painting a bright yellow disabled sign onto a pavement by freehand.

Using spray-paint, the worker impressively creates the signage by going over extremely faded markings from a previous sign.

Social media users rushed to comment on the video, with one person simply stating: ‘One sneeze would ruin everything.’

Another individual wrote: ‘Dang I wish I could have that stable hand,’ while a third said: ‘Wow, so talented.’

4. UNDERWATER TRANSITION VIDEO

In fourth place, @JeremyLynch’s clip uses TikTok’s video editing and effects for an underwater transition video.

It shows him going from the comfort of his bed to the creepiness of underwater, while a Billie Eilish tune plays over the top of it.

While underwater, he spots a shark swimming towards him and jumps out of the water and back into the bedroom.

The video racked up more than 128.1million views and 24.4million likes on the social media platform.

One excited person commented: ‘That’s the best TikTok I’ve seen for a long time’, while another said: ‘Haven’t seen a TikTok that had that much effort put in it in a while.’
