America’s RBonney Gabriel crowned Miss Universe 2022

RBonney Gabriel of the United States of America has been crowned the winner of the Miss Universe 2022 pageant.

The pageant’s finale took place on Saturday at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in Louisiana.

A total of 83 women from around the world competed for the crown.

The competition, which was hosted by Jeannie MaiJenkins, the US actress, saw contestants eliminated at various rounds. This narrowed the contestants down to two finalists.

Representatives of the USA and Venezuela were the two finalists, with the former taking the highly coveted crown.

Venezuela’s Amanda Dudamel and Curacao’s Gabriëla Dos Santos finished as the first and second runner-ups respectively.

Gabriel, 28, was presented the crown by Harnaaz Sandhu, former Miss Universe 2021 from India.

The presentation event was live-streamed globally.
