Obinna Nwafor was a very popular Nollywood actor commonly known as Saint Obi.

He was 58 years old.

Career

Saint Obi gained recognition for his memorable roles in movies such as “Candle Light,” “Sakobi,” “Goodbye Tomorrow,” “Heart of Gold,” “Festival of Fire,” “Executive Crime,” and “Last Party.” With his versatility and captivating performances, he became a beloved figure in the hearts of many Nigerian movie enthusiasts.

In 2001, Saint Obi ventured into film production with his first movie titled “Take Me to Maama,” where he not only produced but also portrayed the character Jerry. Alongside talented actors such as Ebi Sam, Rachel Oniga, Nse Abel, and Enebeli Elebuwa, he created a compelling cinematic experience, demonstrating his abilities as both an actor and a producer.

Family

Saint Obi is the only son in a family of 9 children. He has eight sisters and was the only male child in the family.

Saint Obi’s wife

He was married to Lydia Saint Nwafor. Their marriage is blessed with 3 children, two boys and a girl. The couple later went their separate ways and were engaged in a bitter divorce battle.

The Nollywood actor had dragged his wife to the High Court of Ota, Ogun State for the dissolution of their marriage, which was contracted in 2006. Obi also alleged that his estranged wife ‘imprisoned’ their three children with the help of men of the Police Force, preventing him from seeing his children.

Meanwhile, Saint Obi, who left the movie industry years ago to pursue a different career, is no stranger to divorce controversies, as the actor’s first marriage to the daughter of a Lagos pastor ended in divorce years ago
