Nigerian businessman, Dr Eric Umeofia gives N2.5 million to the real overall best candidate in 2023 UTME

A cash gift of N2.5 million Naira by the Chief Executive Officer and President of Erisco Foods Limited, Dr Eric Umeofia has been awarded to Kamsiyochukwu Precious Umeh who was confirmed the overall best candidate in 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

Umeh emerged as the best candidate in the 2023 UTME, scoring 360 from the combined subjects she sat for.

It was confirmed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) that Umeh scored 99 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics, 97 in Physics, and 66 in English in the year’s UTME.

Umeh is a student of Deeper Life High School in Mowe.

In a bid to encourage the student, the Chief Executive Officer and President of Erisco Foods Limited, Dr Eric Umeofia, announced a cash gift to the young girl.

During a chat with journalists on Friday, Umeofia said he was moved by the student’s interview with The PUNCH earlier.

The businessman also announced various cash rewards to the school’s administrator, the four subject teachers, and two other best students.
