Basketmouth Extends Apology to AY Makun and Others
Renowned Nigerian comedian, Brighy Okpocha, widely known as Basketmouth, has issued a heartfelt apology to his colleague, Ayo Makun (AY).
In an Instagram video, Basketmouth expressed remorse for any actions or words that may have affected AY Makun negatively and called for a state of peace and harmony between them. He extended his apology to anyone within the entertainment industry who may have been unintentionally offended by his actions.
Basketmouth also addressed those who have accused him of actions that impacted their careers, neither confirming nor denying the allegations but asking for forgiveness. He clarified that his apology coincided with an upcoming show next month, acknowledging the need to sell tickets but emphasizing the sincerity of his apology.
He stated, “Now to all the people in the industry that I have offended over time knowingly or unknowingly, I say this to you from the bottom of my heart, I am genuinely sorry.
Please forgive me. To the people that have accused me of doing things that affected their career in one way or the other, I am not going to accept or deny these allegations because God knows the truth.
But regardless please forgive me, I beg you from the bottom of my heart. To my guy, AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid, but if it is please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that has affected you in any way.
And I want you to know that I have forgiven you for whatever you did or said. I just want us to live in peace and harmony. For those that feel this apology video is because I have a show that’s coming up on the 26th of November, you are absolutely correct.

This gesture follows a long-standing feud between Ayo Makun and Basketmouth, initially stemming from an alleged debt of N30,000, which AY claimed Basketmouth refused to repay. Basketmouth countered these claims by asserting that they were never close friends.
During a recent interview with Teju Babyface, AY discussed his unsuccessful attempts to reconcile with Basketmouth and Julius Agwu.
The renowned box office King revealed that he has decided to cease his efforts to mend fences with them. He expressed contentment with the knowledge that he had done his utmost to reconcile and declared that if he were to pass away without reconciling with them, he would be at peace with that outcome.
Destalker recounted that after the incident, Basketmouth had removed his name from significant platforms, and all his attempts to communicate with Basketmouth had proven unfruitful.
