Laycon Addresses Bullying in the Entertainment Industry (Video)

Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ winner and budding musician, Olamilekan Massaoud Al-Khalifah, popularly known as Laycon, has addressed the issue of bullying within the entertainment industry.

In an interview with Punch Newspaper, the rapper and singer emphasized that he doesn’t perceive himself as someone who can be treated disrespectfully because it’s not his nature. Laycon highlighted that he is surrounded by people who love and care for him, and the atmosphere around him is always positive.

He stressed his proactive approach to maintaining a positive mindset, explaining that he steers clear of situations or conversations that could lead to negativity. Laycon acknowledged that while he personally hasn’t encountered bullying from his industry peers, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

He specified that the bullying he has faced comes mainly from online trolls, distinguishing it from physical bullying.

The death of Nigerian rapper, Mohbad has led many to become aware of the level of bullying and godfatherism in the industry as videos of the late singer being maltreated by his former label crew, Marlians surface online.
