Wizkid’s Late Mother’s Funeral Arrangements Revealed by Family

The family of award-winning singer, Ayodeji Balogun better known by his stage name, Wizkid has released the funeral arrangement for his late mother.

TSB News reported that Wizkid had lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, who died at around 1.30 a.m. on Friday, August 18th.

Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager, confirmed the sad news to The Punch.

Two months after her death, the deceased is set to be buried in grand style as arrangements for her burial are already in top gear.

A flyer circulating online showed the funeral arrangements of the deceased who will have a wake keep and tribute night on Thursday, 12th October 2023, followed by a funeral service on Friday, 13th October at RCCG City of David, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The deceased is survived by her husband Alhaji M.O Balogun; her four children, Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Balogun, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji Balogun, and her grandchildren.

When the news of her death made rounds, Burna Boy and Davido paid tribute to her.

While performing at his concert in Detroit, Burna Boy took a minute to pay respect to the deceased.

Calling Wizkid his brother, he stated that he understands Wizkid’s pain as he can’t imagine how it would be for him to lose his own mama.

Davido, on his part, sent his condolence message to him, via his Instagram story.

Consoling him, Davido stated that sadness flies away on the wings of time, as he promised to keep him in his prayers.

Last year, Davido had heaped praises on Wizkid’s mum, describing her as an amazing woman, after they met at the airport.

The then father of four couldn’t hide his excitement and even offered to help her carry her bag.

He revealed that he helped her carry her bags at the airport as she is a first-class citizen.

A year back, Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are, had heaped praises on his mother as he recounted her numerous efforts on him.

Sunday Are, who described Wizkid’s mother as his, claimed she had always prayed and supported him through everything.
