A lot of mad people are entrepreneurs in lagos – Vee Iye

Vee Iye, a notable media personality and former Big Brother Nigeria contestant, has recently ignited discussions with her forthright views on the entrepreneurial market in Lagos.

Taking to Twitter, Vee Iye voiced her concerns about how the economic situation is shaping the business sector in the city.

In her tweet, Vee Iye critically observed that the challenging economy in Lagos is propelling individuals, whom she referred to as “mentally unstable,” into entrepreneurship. She lamented the lack of genuine passion, knowledge, or skills among many new business owners, pointing out that their primary focus seems to be solely on monetary gain. According to Vee Iye, this trend is resulting in businesses run by ill-equipped individuals, both at the ownership and staff levels. Her closing remark, “only God will help us in Nigeria,” underscored her apprehension about this emerging business dynamic.

This statement from Vee Iye reflects on the apparent disregard for customer-centric practices among many budding Nigerian entrepreneurs.

On a personal front, Vee Iye has been at the center of various updates and rumors. In August 2023, speculation about her dating Iyanya gained momentum following a post she shared, showing her resting on tattooed arms that were mistakenly attributed to Iyanya, known for his tattoos. This rumor was later debunked when it was revealed that the person in the photo was actually DJ Shawn, not Iyanya.

In October, Vee Iye shared her personal struggles with the public, revealing that she was experiencing a difficult period and was close to her breaking point. Her openness about these challenges offered a glimpse into her life beyond the public persona.

Earlier in the year, Vee Iye made news when she declined to participate in the All Stars Season 8 of Big Brother Naija. In response to a fan’s suggestion, she politely but firmly stated that she would not be returning to the show. This decision was met with support from many of her fans, who recalled her unfair treatment in her previous season on the show.
