Police arrest 3 men allegedly behind celebrity gossip blog, gistlover

In an unexpected turn of events, the Nigerian police have made a significant announcement regarding the notorious celebrity gossip blog, Gist Lover.

According to an official statement, three men have been apprehended in connection with various offenses, including conspiracy, cyber-stalking, and threats to life. The suspects, aged 27, 25, and 30, are identified as members of the Gist Lover Family syndicate, responsible for managing the controversial Gist Lover blog.

The trio’s arrest sheds light on the alleged criminal activities conducted through the Gist Lover platform, which has gained notoriety for cyber-stalking, incitement, blackmail, and other illicit practices. The suspects, during interrogation, disclosed their distinct roles within the syndicate, substantiating the case with compelling evidence.

Adebukola Kolapo, the first suspect, emerged as a pivotal figure in the Gist Lover operation. He reportedly created over 80% of the Gist Lover pages, leaving a significant digital footprint that contributed to the criminal activities. Adebukola was also tasked with scouting, editing, and captioning contents for the blog. The police have underscored the overwhelming evidence against him in the ongoing investigation.

Gist Lover, in recent years, has been a source of distress for numerous celebrities. The blog is infamous for exposing personal details and problems of public figures. Notably, last year, Gist Lover targeted PBM winner Mercy AK, making unfounded claims about her health status, including HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. Mercy AK vehemently denied the allegations in a tearful live video, cursing Gist Lover for spreading false information.

Many individuals have fallen victim to Gist Lover’s damaging narratives, prompting concerns about the impact on the lives and reputations of those targeted. The arrest of the Gist Lover Family members raises questions about the future trajectory of the platform and the potential legal consequences for its operators.
