Man United Legend Rio Ferdinand celebrates Super Eagles
Legendary Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has celebrated Nigeria’s win against South Africa in the semi-final of the AFCON 2023.
After a thrilling 1-1 draw in normal time, the Eagles triumphed 4-2 on penalties with Stanley Nwabali making two saves.
The Bafana Bafana had to play the final minutes of the second half extra time with 10 men after Grant Kekana was sent off for fouling Terem Moffi who was goal-bound.Reacting to the hard-fought win, Ferdinand posted a photo of himself holding an old Nigerian jersey on his X handle.
The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they will take on hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final.
