Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, recently ignited significant reactions online after sharing a revelation about his life with Brooke Bailey.

During an interview with Brooke Bailey, Portable took the show host to the location where his mother was initially buried before he made the decision to exhume her body and relocate it to a new site.

The street-pop artist also revealed during his conversation with Brooke why he made the decision to relocate his mother’s body from her previous gravesite.

Portable explained that when he was requested to visit his mother’s gravesite to offer prayers some years ago, he discovered that his mother’s family had sold the land where she was buried. Consequently, he was denied access to his mother’s resting place.

The singer, hailing from Sango-Otta and raised there, is renowned for his street mentality and outspoken nature. However, much of his personal story remains unknown to many.

In his conversation with DJ Brooke Bailey, he disclosed that he was only 13 years old when he lost his mother. Growing up with a struggling father presented its own challenges, making his journey far from easy.

He further revealed that one of the reasons for his decision to exhume his mother’s remains and reinter her at his new mansion, currently under construction in Sango, was his desire to remain close to her.

He also made a point that when he exhumed the remains of his late mother, she was yet to decay as she is still fresh after over 10 years.
