“Stop using Yoruba, you won’t go far” – fans troll Asake over his newly released album, Work of Art
Nigerian singer Asake finally announced the release of his second album, Work of Art today, June 16th 2023 and by extension was welcomed with mixed reactions.
Asake who is signed to YBNL record label headed by Olamide took to his social media platforms to share his new body of work with utmost excitement.
The album, Work of Art is made is up of fourteen (14) tracks and he featured only Olamide in it. Three songs he had earlier released in the past that include, Yoga, 2:30 and Amapiano are also among the 14tracks.
This comes after Asake released his first studio album, “Mr Money With The Vibe” on September 8th, 2022.
However, The new album by Asake did not sit well with some of his fans and by extension has garnered several criticisms.
Many of his fans who are not Yoruba speakers expressed utmost displeasure as they noted that Asake went so much deep by speaking too much of Yoruba in his lyrics and they added that he won’t go far if he doesn’t stop singing in Yoruba.
