Investigation is ongoing.- Lagos Police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, reacts to tweets declaring singer, Trevboi, wanted for allegedly killing man in Lagos club
The police in Lagos state have commenced investigation after a man identified as Kehinde Adesanwo, was shot dead allegedly by a singer, Trevboi, in a night club located on Shiro Street, in the Fadeyi area of Lagos last Friday, July 14.
According to eyewitnesses, trouble started at about 9pm when the accused refused to pay his bill of N52,000. He was said to be making his way out of the night club without paying the bill when a bouncer stationed at the entrance stopped him. The suspect was said to have engaged the bouncer in an altercation and the deceased who was at the club at the time decided to intervene. The deceased is said to have stepped in between the men to forestall any fight when the accused pulled out his gun and allegedly shot him in the stomach. Adesanwo was said to have died on the spot.
A friend of the deceased came online to demand for justice.
Reacting via his Twitter handle this morning, the spokesperson of the police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said an investigation has commenced into the incident. He said the suspect abandoned his car and fled on foot.
The car and the documents in it are in police custody.
