Mariah Carey’s estranged sister Alison has been arrested on a prostitution charge in New York, according to local reports.Alison Carey, 55, was reportedly arrested by police in the town of Suagerties after an undercover operation on Friday.It is alleged Alison was working out of an unnamed local hotel and “soliciting money in exchange for sexual favours”, reports the Daily Freeman.Police chief Joseph Sinagra told the publication Alison identified herself as Mariah’s sister after being arrested.
Police were allegedly alerted after being tipped off about ads which contained lines similar to Mariah’s 1995 song Fantasy.
One ad is said to have read: “Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you,woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its, ‘ITS SUCH A SWEET,SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON.'”
A source told People magazine the siblings have been estranged “for years”.
“Mariah takes care of her entire family and I’m sure this is very painful for her,” a source said.
Alison is being held on a $1,000 bail and is due to appear in Saugerties Town Court on Tuesday.
