One Enu from Emu-Obodeti, Delta State, yesterday, chopped off a neighbor’s flesh in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, for preventing him from beating his wife.
According to Imalah Ugoachanum, who reported the incident, the neighbor named Tornu Bari, had escorted Enu’s wife back home after she received a distress call from her husband. Enu and his wife, prior to yesterday, had been having series of misunderstandings, which led him to threatening to murder the wife, prompting her to flee home to seek refuge in Tornu’s nephew’s house. Yesterday night, Enu’s wife received a distress call from Enu, that her attention was needed urgently at home, as one of her children was seriously sick.
Considering the time and how the call came, she requested that Tornu escorted her home, without knowing it was a ploy by her husband to trick her back home to murder her as he had earlier threatened.However, unfortunately for him, as soon as he was about attacking the wife who stepped in first, Tornu intervened and out of anger that Tornu had foiled his plans, he went after him with a broken bottle and chopped off a pound of flesh from his right hand.Tornu has since been admitted at Life Forte Hospital in Rumuolumini, Port-Harcourt, where he has been recommended for a plastic surgery. Meanwhile, Enu has been on the run since then and has been declared wanted by the police.
