A Nigerian assistant professor at Pennsylvania State University, Uju Anya has created a stir online after getting engaged to her lesbian partner.

The assistant professor made the news known on the micro-blogging platform Twitter now known as X, sharing a clip of the proposal which happened in the presence of her and her partner’s children.

In a series of tweets to accompany the video, she revealed that her boyfriend deceived her into believing they were going to a friend’s party.

According to her, she arrived to pick up her now fiance and got the shock of her life when she saw her grand surprise. Uju disclosed that they were surrounded by love, their children, and friends and she said Yes to her lesbian partner.

Expressing gratitude to the public for their well wishes, she promised to share clearer pictures from the proposal.

“Y’all. She said we were going to Summer Lee’s party. I arrived to pick her up and had the most delicious shock. She colluded with folks, people flew in, and we were surrounded by love. In front of our children and dear friends, Sirry Alang asked me to be her wife. And I said yes”.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you extending your congratulations and well wishes! I promise clear pictures are coming at some point, but I know nothing and have nothing (besides my dream woman and a massive rock), because it was all a surprise”.

As expected, the news has created a buzz online as some Igbos considered her a disgrace to their tr!be.
