A young Nigerian lady, who is living with sickle cell, has shared her nine-month pregnancy journey while stating the challenges faced before having her baby.

A TikTok user identified as Adetoyinbo Folashade took to the video-sharing platform to narrate her pregnancy ordeal as a sickle cell patient.

In the video shared by @folabeautifier, Folashade revealed how she overcame common pregnancy symptoms like nausea, cold, and others.

However, her story changed three weeks before her delivery as she came down with a severe cough, around the same time her PCV had dropped to 24%.

She was hospitalized and ended up spending the crossover night into the year 2024 at the hospital despite feeling a lot better.

A few minutes before the new year, she had a serious breathing problem and her contractions began. She was eventually prepped for a caesarian section on the 2nd of January where she delivered a baby boy.

Sharing her story, she captioned the post with, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.”

Other sickle cell patients have since flooded her page to applaud her strength while sharing similar fears as she went through.
